In relation to the establishment of eight new centres on environmentally friendly energy research (FME), and a general increase in the research funding for renewable energy in Norway, there will from 2009 and on open up a number of opportunities for starting a carrier within renewable energy research.

Taking a PhD is a natural start for a young researcher. A PhD position gives an opportunity to make a difference. As a PhD candidate within renewable energy you will get the chance to work with different renewable energy technologies, and participate actively in making intelligent and sustainable solutions for a better future. We need more energy, but a more sustainable energy system. In the coming years we may experience an energy revolution, but it depends upon our willingness to devote ourselves to push the development in the right direction.
