This can be utilized and by good coordination Norway can become a flagship on renewable energy in the future. Norway can hold it's status as one of the worlds greatest energy producers also after the oil age.

The Norwegian comptence on hydropower has for a long time been internationally renown. Silicon production and solar cells are other strenghts, and recently research on ocean energy is beeing lifted up to an international level.

From 2009 we have 8 Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research, that are a governmental initiative within research on renewable energy and carbon capture and storage.
