Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME/CEER)
The 4th February 2009, eight new research centres was granted support from the Norwegian government and the Research Council of Norway. These eight centres will constitute a strong effort on some selected areas of renewable energy research and also and CO2 capture and storage.

In 2011, three additional Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) were launched:
The centres will receive 200 million NOK in government support for research connected to Norwegian and international energy and climate policy with socio-scientific focus.
