One of the most important environmental consequenses from wind turbines is the influence on birds. At Smøla, location of Norways biggest wind park, a ten-fold of eagles has been killed from playing with wind turbines while the number eagles has increased since the construction of the park. What is the impact on birds from windmills, and what to do to reduce this? Kjetil Bevanger from NINA is leading the project BirdWind, that will look at these questions.
